Well….it must be fall…another hurricane

We were on our way home but last night, after looking at the forecast track for Hurricane Irma, we woke up to reality …… we can’t go home right now….

We called our good neighbors  Mike and Linda who agreed to put our furniture on the porches into the house …they put their golf cart  and another neighbor’s into our garage along with Mike’s old truck. They are driving our Highlander and their mini van out on Saturday heading for their kid’s in Charlotte.

Our garage floor is 3 or 4 feet higher than almost all our neighbors at that end of the island…the result was we had no water in our garage from Matthew. Matthew reportedly produced a storm surge on the coastal islands like ours and Hilton Head of about 4 feet…..

So,  here we are in Urbana, Iowa at one of the neatest RV parks we have ever seen…. someone here loves to make stuff….here are a couple of his creations…

This one below from milk cans, fuel oil tanks and 55 gal drums…

Yesterday, we stopped at the rest stop just after crossing the Missouri River at Chamberlain, SD and on a high bluff overlooking the valley below,  a marvelous work of art….made of stainless steel, surrounded by floodlights in the ground…I would love to see her at night…Sacajawea

Well, we can’t go home so we booked a week into an RV park just out of Knoxville, TN ….they are having a 3 day Bluegrass Festival there next week….should be great fun….while the hurricane rages…what are ya gonna do?
