St. Andrews….and whale cruise

We are in St John today…..only about 70 miles to drive this morning …wi fi very poor both places….

We loved St Andrews, a small town of 1800 full time residents.

Had a nice bus tour  and lunch at Milsbrae Gardens day before yesterday…..took one of the whale cruises yesterday….beautiful seascapes….saw many 🐳. This species gets to about 30 feet.

Scenery on the cruise was fabulous….

Other whale watchers…..

This lighthouse is at the tip of Campobello Island…..

Remember your history……..Eleanor and Franklin D Roosevelt spent their summers at their “cottage” there in the 1920’s and 1930’s……we were told that she was a frequent shopper in St Andrews….knew all the merchants by name. Their home is now a national landmark.

Some people on the cliffs watching….

Here are our tour hosts also on the boat….

This was the highlight so far, a spectacular afternoon on the water 💧

Lots of Lemke whales and dozens of porpoise…….and the great seascapes

The boat passes our campground on the return….

St John is a BIG city…..nothing planned this afternoon… a bus tour tomorrow morning then a big festival taking place in the Old City Market…..we’ll be there
