Halfway to Pine Creek Campground in the Gallatin NF, Montana
Today is Wednesday, August 16 and we are at Pine Grove RV Park, Greenwood, Nebraska.
From our start near Ridgeville, SC we are now a little over halfway to our destination. We are headed there for an outdoor wedding on August 24th.
Yesterday, we stopped at the Corp of Engineers park near Iowa City, IA. The COE project there was a dam creating a lake on the Iowa River which is called Coralville Lake. We stayed in the small campground below the dam. It was a very nice setting. Lots of people fishing in the water flowing from the bottom of the dam. We’ve stayed at several COE campgrounds and they are always very nice, sometimes really special and always at a bargain price. With our Senior National Park Pass the fee was $13 for a pull thru with full hook ups…..it was very overcast so I did not take any photos but here’s where we stayed
I spotted the perfect 5th Wheel tow vehicle here this afternoon….its a Freightliner FL60 RV hauler/toy hauler….should be good for that 26,000 pound GVW 5th wheel my buddy Jim M should have
Tomorrow we are going across Nebraska to North Platte staying at the Holiday RV Park there. We are only doing 250 to 280 miles most days…..this gets us into our campground mid afternoon…no stress.
This is a great time NOT to be on the coast of SC….here was the situation this afternoon where we live:
* locations… coastal counties of southeast South Carolina and
southeast Georgia, including the Savannah and Charleston Metro
* Heat index values… 108 to 114 degrees.
My blogs should get more interesting in a couple days …stay tuned
