A New Home

Our daughter and her boyfriend are moving…..with Tristan, of course. We spent  the first week  of June at Givhans Ferry State Park campground, located about 3 miles up river on the Edisto from their new address. Our mission was to help Maren and Josh make the house a little more livable. Lots of painting, power washing…. and fun too.

This is a wonderful piece of property; 54 acres with 900 feet of frontage on the Edisto River. The house is spacious with a second level covered porch on three sides…..here is the entry off Peirce Road, followed by a view of the drive from the porch..

The property is sort of pie shaped, narrowing as it goes southeast toward the Edisto River. The previous owner dug out numerous small ponds and created a trail back to the river winding through the ponds…..the ponds seem to have plenty of fish.  Part of the deal was this All Terrain oriented golf cart…Tristan at the wheel…

Below, a couple of views of the property…

The Edisto River makes a  180 degree bend as it goes around their property on the southeast…..at the far end where the bend is zoom in to the max on the Google map below and you can see the dock….at the upper left end you can see the metal roof of the house (red).

The dock is really well made and huge…it has a nice sandy beach around it and a place to launch a boat..Some photos of the dock and family below…
